How to grow tulips indoors

Place your tulip bulb on top of the rocks with the pointed end facing upwards. Adding the additional rocks will help stabilize the bulb when it starts to grow.

Fill the jar with water leaving a ⅓ to ½ inch between the water level and the tulip bulb. It is important that the bulb is not submerged in water to ensure it does not rot.

Leave your bulb in a cool dark space until it begins to bud. Once your tulip begins to bud, move it to a sunnier space in your home. You are now on the home stretch! At this stage it is helpful to rotate your tulip container every 2 days to keep the plant growing straight rather than towards the light source.
